MRT
MRT is a type of sensitivity test that measures immune system activity after certain foods are consumed. This assessment will show us whether a food is causing an immune reaction and to what degree. There are up to 170 foods and chemicals tested for, which gives us a baseline for starting the follow-up LEAP diet protocol.
LEAP
LEAP is a diet plan specifically tailored to each person to help calm the immune system, and reduce/eliminate symptoms associated with food sensitivities.
The diet process involves:
- The first ~2 weeks: You will only eat about 25-35 of your least reactive foods, in an effort to reduce inflammation. Most people feel at least a 50% symptom improvement in the first few weeks.
- The next ~4 weeks: Once you are feeling significantly better, we will introduce one new food per day from the next phase.
- After the ~6-week elimination diet: We start adding in untested foods not on the MRT panel. The goal during this phase is variety and balance to improve gut health and immunity. Any moderately reactive foods should be avoided for three months, and highly reactive foods avoided for six months before introducing them again.
Throughout the entire process, you will keep a food-symptom diary and monitor how the new foods are making you feel.
THE MRT/LEAP PACKAGE INCLUDES AN INITIAL 90-MINUTE SESSION WITH TWO FOLLOW-UP SESSIONS LASTING 60 MINUTES. EMAIL CHECK-IN AND SUPPORT AS NEEDED THROUGHOUT THE FIRST TWO MONTHS OF THE DIET PROCESS.
